When you work in any field for nearly 25 years, you see a lot of change. In broadcasting and content creation, a lot has changed in the last 25 MONTHS! While my foundation was formed in traditional outlets such as TV and radio, a major focus of mine over the past 11 years as the Tampa Bay Lightning's Director of Broadcasting & Programming was the need to create and grow digital content in an increasingly mobile and niche world. In short, helping Lightning fans connect to their favorite team any day of the week at any time, not just during the game.

This sparked the creation of Lightning Power Play, a 24/7 Lightning-centric station on iHeartRadio (and its twin brother, USF Bulls Unlimited). In the video realm, since the general public couldn't attend the Lightning's morning skate, we brought it to them with The Morning Skate Show on the Lightning website and social media channels. At the start of the 2019 Stanley Cup Playoffs, The Morning Skate was simulcast live and as a "pre-pregame show" on Fox Sports Sun's linear TV channel.

Each of these ideas started out as creative sparks, but as they became real vehicles of content we had to manage personnel and production needs. I oversaw a staff of more than 30 hosts, producers, and creators across these three platforms. By allowing these talented people to be their best, by being themselves, collectively we made great content. It was content that was absorbed by growing audiences, ready to pull in more revenue, and we set the standard in the National Hockey League for what great content is and could be for each and every team.

What I was able to help lead in a professional sports culture can also be applied to your business, your team's content needs, or individual announcer growth.
